Question
The new Mountie Bounty service sounds great and all, but why do this when there are offices and machines on campus that can take my money?

Answer
The largest benefits with the new online Mountie Bounty service are convenience and security. There is certainly nothing wrong with visiting an office or an Add Value station on campus to accomplish this, but using MyMountaineerCard to make your deposit means you can make a deposit anytime day or night where an internet connection if available, eliminating the need to wait in line at a cashiers office or wait on hold over the phone. This is especially helpful after hours or on the weekends when offices are closed. Using MyMountaineerCard is also secure and means that you no longer have to provide sensitive account information over the phone or through U.S. mail. Additionally, whereas you are limited to making a cash-only deposit using the Add Value stations on campus, MyMountaineerCard provides you with the flexibility of using a credit card or debit/check card to make your deposit—and the funds are instantly available for use.

Question
I’m a parent. How do I access MyMountaineerCard?

Answer
Unfortunately, only users with a MyID username and password are permitted to access MyMountaineerCard and all its features. This includes students, faculty, staff, and Mountaineer Temps.

Question
If parents don’t have access to MyMountaineerCard, how do they deposit Mountie Bounty online?

Answer
We realize that many users may want a guest to electronically deposit Mountie Bounty on their behalf, so to accommodate for this, at the MyMountaineerCard login page—http://mymountaineercard.wvu.edu—instead of entering login information, just click the ‘Guest Deposit’ link in the upper left corner. Enter the MyID username (in all lowercase) of the user for whom you are wanting to make a deposit and confirm. From there, enter all the appropriate information to make a Mountie Bounty deposit. Step-by-step instructions for making a Mountie Bounty deposit online can be found at http://wvucard.wvu.edu/mymountaineercard .

Question
What should I do if I lose my Mountaineer Card?

Answer
One of the features of MyMountaineerCard is the ability for cardholders to instantly deactivate their Mountaineer Card. All users are strongly encouraged to safeguard their card. However, if a card is lost or stolen, the user should immediately access MyMountaineerCard and deactivate their card. Keep in mind that others can potentially use your lost Mountaineer Card if they find it, especially if you have Mountie Bounty funds on your card. Users are responsible for their card and any activity that occurs on it, so it is important to safeguard your card, but to also deactivate it promptly if you discover it is lost.

Question
What if I lose my Mountaineer Card, but then find it again a few days later? Can I reactivate my card?

Answer
Once you have deactivated your lost card, it’s recommended that you stop by our office to have a new one printed. However, if you find your lost before having a new one issued, you can use the Report Found Card feature to reactivate your card. NOTE: Only the most recent lost card can be reactivated. Any previous cards that may have been lost can never be reactivated again, even if found at a later date.

Question
I’m having trouble keeping track of meals each week and my Mountie Bounty balance, what should I do?

Answer
Another feature of MyMountaineerCard is the ability for users to view their transaction history. The MyMountaineerCard home page will show all the user’s financial plans and current plan balances, including Meal plans, Mountie Bounty, and Meals Plus. By clicking the ‘Spending History’ link in the left navigation menu, users can view transaction details for all their debit plans. The date range feature also allows users to specify the dates of their search.

Question
In Laundry Room Status, I’m clicking on the residence hall and it doesn’t seem to be doing anything. Any advice?

Answer
Unfortunately, because there are so many residence halls on campus, some with many floors, once you click a residence hall, you have to scroll to the bottom to view the washers and dryers for that area. To simplify your search, simply click the check box for your favorite residence hall locations and click ‘My Favorites’. Only your favorite locations will then be displayed, which will remain the default setting anytime you visit MyMountaineerCard. You can add or remove favorites at your discretion at any time, or click ‘All Rooms’ to view all the available laundry locations.

Question
I’m trying to set up a text notification but I keep getting an error. What should I do?

Answer
Even though the setup screen prompts you for a phone number and displays ‘hyphens’ in the example, the notification preference may not register if hyphens are used. Please verify that the phone number you entered does not have hyphens and then try again. Also, you need to send a confirmation code to the number you provided and confirm this code before the number will register. This can be done by clicking the ‘Send Confirmation Code’ button, then entering the code in the white box and clicking the ‘Confirm’ button. If successful, the Status will change from UNCONFIRMED to CONFIRMED. Finally, click the terms and conditions checkbox and the ‘Save’ button to register your phone number. Step-by-step instructions for setting up a notification preference can be found at http://wvucard.wvu.edu/mymountaineercard . If you are still having problems, please e-mail wvucard@mail.wvu.edu for assistance.

Question
What happens to a load of laundry I have in progress if my building or floor experiences a power outage?

Answer
Although rare, power outages do happen sometimes and may impact a laundry user. When an outage occurs, the time remaining on any load in progress should remain in the memory of the machine. However, laundry machines do not restart automatically, so whenever the power is restored to your building/floor and the laundry machine, you will need to select the laundry cycle again and reactivate the machine. NOTE: While the timer will wait for user interaction for washers, the time will automatically begin counting down for dryers as soon as the machine is powered again. In order to maximize the drying time on your load, you will need to choose a cycle and reactivate the machine as soon as power is restored.
